Streetplus Cleaning Ambassadors Making A Difference
Streetplus Company, LLC was selected by the South Park II Business Improvement District (Los Angeles, CA) to provide clean, safe and friendly services to the new District. Services began on January 2, 2016. This area hadn’t received services in many years and the environment was in need of attention and detailed cleaning. The approach was divided into phases that included Litter Collection and Removal and Storm Drain Clearance was the focus during Phase I. Litter Collection and Removal, Weed Abatement and Reporting and Removal of small graffiti was the emphasis during Phase II. Documenting and removing large graffiti was the primary focus during Phase III. Streetplus is near completion of the major tasks in the District and the difference is amazing. The sidewalks and curb lines are free of litter, weeds are being sprayed and pulled, graffiti on street fixtures is being removed daily and the large graffiti tags are being removed. Green Friendly Equipment and Practices
Good “old fashion” hard work is still the best approach to cleaning, but Streetplus augments our manual labor efforts with appropriate equipment and practices that are friendly to our environment. “Green Friendly” equipment includes battery powered sweepers, vacuums, utility vehicles, bikes and other equipment structured to keep the District clean, safe, and friendly.
Pan and Broom
One of the most important tasks of a Cleaning Ambassador is the collection and removal of litter on the sidewalks and curb lines. Our “Pan and Broom” cleaning efforts are structured so our Cleaning Ambassadors are highly visible while collection loose litter.
Trash Can Cleaning
Our “attention to detail” approach to cleaning includes trash cans. Over time, trash can and the area around trash cans can get extremely dirty. Not with Streetplus Cleaning Ambassadors! We take the time to clean this area by wiping down the top and sides of trash cans, removing the trash can and sweeping the area. We replace trash liners and pressure wash the area to thoroughly clean the trash cans and surrounding area.
Weed Abatement
Weed Abatement includes the removal of weeds and grass from sidewalk cracks, storefronts, and other areas in the District. Cleaning Ambassadors will pull weeds or cut before spraying with “green friendly” chemicals.
Pressure Washing
Picking up loose litter is important, but deep cleaning sidewalks and storefronts is an enhanced level of cleaning that Districts need. Streetplus develops comprehensive pressure washing schedules to ensure all sidewalks are pressure washed on a regular basis. Our pressure washing services will remove gum, unpleasant odors and other stains that make the District look dirty and not cared for.
Graffiti Removal
One of the important tasks for our Cleaning Ambassadors is the identification, reporting and removal of graffiti, such as decals, handbills, flyers, posters, paint, and stickers from sidewalks, street fixtures, buildings, newspaper racks, trash cans, planters and other surfaces in the District. Our cleaning ambassadors are trained to remove graffiti as soon as it is reported.

Painting and Street Fixture Maintenance
One of the most effective ways to make a positive impact on the District is to paint street fixtures on a regular basis. Street fixtures include benches, light poles, utility boxes, electrical boxes, mail boxes, and other fixed assets in the District.
Minor Landscaping
Our Cleaning Ambassadors maintain landscaping in a variety of ways that include general care of planter boxes and hanging baskets. We fertilize, remove weeds, and water flowers are a regular basis. We also collect and dispose of leaves during the fall season to ensure the District sidewalks are free of leaves.
Snow Removal
Streetplus understands the importance of implementing an effective snow removal plan. Our Ambassadors play a vital role in keeping Districts open and available during the winter. We also understand the importance of limiting potential hazards related to snow and ice.
Hospitality Services
Streetplus Cleaning Ambassadors are friendly with engaging and outgoing personalities who are trained to represent your District in a positive way. They are a reassuring presence, giving directions and sharing information about attractions, events, and other activities occurring in your District.
Placemaking
Placemaking is a multi-faceted approach to the planning, design and management of public spaces. Placemaking capitalizes on a local community’s assets, inspiration, and potential, with the intention of creating public spaces that promote people’s health, happiness, and well-being.
Streetplus ambassadors support these efforts by placing tablets, chairs and other street furniture in these spaces for the public to enjoy. Our ambassadors also maintain the space by keeping the space litter-free, clean, and friendly. These spaces are an important program element and assigning ambassadors to manage and maintain the space is a great use of resources.
